will a cd audio studio recording..rock album 4 ex, would benefit or amazing to listen at 5.1 channel speakers?

...i always read it at dvd recording that they are 5.1surround sound and wondering if cd audio music album will be amazing to hear at 5.1 channel...pls help 4 knowledge coz im planning to buy 5.1 channel speakers...thanks.

If a DVD has 5.1 audio (5 speakers and 1 sub-woofer). Its audio track was recorded so that each channel (speaker) can output a different track. So if you had the speakers positioned properly (2 front, 1 center-front, 2 rear, and sub), you can get a pretty cool positional sound effects from the disc. DVD audio discs are usually authored in 5.1 and sounds great because it was meant to be. However if you're talking about using a regular stereo audio cd and listening to it in 5.1 mode on your receiver, you're not going to get great sound. Regular audio discs are authored to use two speakers only, left and right. So if you use them in a 5.1 environment, the sounds from each side will be shared amongst the extra speakers. It's kind of like asking if a black and white movie looks better when displayed on a color tv. Sure, it looks great, but it's still in black and white.
