Where do you get a remote for an LCD projector? 1994 Sharp XG-H440U.?

I have a remote for it; it came with it I got it at a yard sale but it doesn't work. I NEED it because it makes everything widescreen and cuts the top and bottom off full screen things like NES games. The unit has the video adjustments for normal things like brightness and volume and zoom and like this blue shield thing but the remote; ONLY the remote has this group called masking. Why the F do they make so many electronics NEED the remote and not have all the buttons on the unit?
