I cant seem to figure out how to hook up my new car radio in with the stock wiring.?

I have an Aiwa stereo system and I was wondering if you can lengthen the wire from the speaker to the receiver?

The speaker wire is built in to the back of the speaker. The stereo receiver has the red and black tabs where you insert the speaker wire.
